Default 2018 hard water - how’s it going?

Haven’t seen many posts up yet for 2018 hardwater. Feel free to post some pics if you got them or tell us how you made out on lake x, y or z.

For me I’ve been out 3 times. Twice to lake x and once to Lac st Anne. All 3 trips were slow for me. Filled 1 of my tags on lac st Anne and managed 1 nice perch out of lake x. Of course missed a few others but all and all it has been very slow for me. Didn’t weigh this perch but length is 13.75” for

Default Oldtimer!

Great perch cap , congrats. Btw you can age the perch by cutting off gill plate bone and pour a kettle of hot water over it. Peel skin off. Let it dry. Then count white growth rings its kind interesting and easy to do. Thx for the post chain

We have been out a few times this year. Looking forward to a few walleye lakes here in the new year.

Looks like you’ve been getting into them! Good job Sam! And I’m going to age my next perch for sure! Going to be interesting to see how old some
Of them are. How big was that 7yr? And what type of fish.

Hit our favorite pike spot on Pine yesterday, and between the 3 of us landed over a dozen pike. Not bad for 4 hours mid day.

Fishing has been pretty good at Beaver Mines Lake so far this season, although the weather was a bit sketchy when we were out yesterday with blowing snow and very limited visibility at times.

That’s a tiger trout. My first tiger and my first fish of the 18/19 ice season.

South Buck, Telegraph, and Pigeon have been super slow in comparison to last year on my groups' trips.

I don’t typically get out much but this year I’ve been out a few times. Caught a couple pike and one undersized walleye. And saw a couple nice rainbows get pulled by my 6year old nephew.....

Had a couple decent mornings at Pigeon so far. Still not truck worthy ice though.
