WOW that is one of the best AB sturgeons I have seen. I love how dark it is and how thick it is around the pectoral fins. Congrats.

Thanks fishafterwork and Wayne for the estimate..
Building a craddle for weighing them. Didn't want to stick the hook in her gillplate to weigh it.
Thanks Leroy

He is a nice guy I've fished with him once. He's in the tagging program and uses 2 rods all the time. When there's 2 of them in the boat they use 4 rods.So you can't really say he' the most successful. That's a great fish by the way.

Beauty sturgeon...big Congrats!! Indeed, super dark sturgeon, especially for her size. Mostly all larger sturgeon from the SSR I have seen tend to start turning a lot lighter in color. Anyways, awesome fishy!

I agree, 65-70lbs looks about right.

As far as the master of sturgeon goes I dunno....
I took the gf out for her fist time sturgeon fishing and she caught 6 in an hour and a half Luckiest person I know I tell ya!
Either that or she just has an excellent teacher/guide

Thank for sharing, cheers n gl out there

I'm going to get a tattoo in honour of sturgeon hound. I was thinking a mythical Greek good riding a sturgeon. Or a Ukrainian eating a ham sandwich... Not sure.
