"Basic desire to improve the health of others"......again what goes through your mind saying this was the intent....it was to save institution costs...and reduce the issues.
"Some valuable lessons were learnt"......boy do you need to think before you talk. No lesson were learnt....society changed and realized what those in charge did was wrong, no lesson was learnt. You make it sound as if this was policy was a good thing that taught us something.......wow...."gosh dang, Billy shore won't do that again....no kidding, billybob, cause he's dead"

Whatever you say...which so far is nothing.
Spit it out...I can't stand your stuttering.
Removing a portion of a document...a line...IS taking something out of context there genius.
It's pretty simple... you remove a sentence from the context of an article... get it?

If they now proceed civilly, Holder has to face the requirement to disclose everything that is relevant and have a Judge look at whatever is in dispute and decide what needs to be revealed and what should, and should not, be blacked out.
Seems pretty damaging to me, either way.
Maybe the U.S. western States will want to secede and we'll all get talking about that. Alaska, too.

I hope what you say is true Rocky, but I am getting too cynical in my old age to count on the average voter to use common sense. Look what happened here in Alberta a short time ago!

OWwwww. My head hurts.
Eugenics History, Part 1:
One of the earliest fathers of eugenics was Herbert Davey Croly. He was born in 1869. Croly was went to school for many years, including Harvard (are you paying attention, Okotokian?). Croly influenced President Theodore Roosevelt (red tory) and, especially, President Woodrow Wilson (flaming socialist). Both of them were not adverse to war, but I digress.
Anyway, Croly wrote a famous book called "The Promise of America", in which he asserted that America would never realize her full potential unless "the State interferes on behalf of the really fittest." Didja get that? That was in 1909. Woodrow Wilson really liked the ideas. Eugenics is born. It was born on the LEFT.
Woodrow Wilson was one of the first famous U.S. Progressives (right after Teddy Roosevelt). From the WH site:
He developed a program of progressive reform and asserted international leadership in building a new world order.
http://www.whitehouse.gov/about/pres...woodrowwilson/
"new world order". "progressive reform". Where have we heard those words before! [hint:read this thread for some] We hear them again from George Soros and his pals, btw.
Anyway, one of the earliest activist women who touted eugenics was Margret Sanger. She was a birth control activist and railed against traditional marriage. She actually invented the term "birth control". Sounds nice, doesn't it? She also fought hard to promote "race hygiene". She was a proud member of the American Eugenics Society and the English Eugenics Society. She was also an activist for the LEFT.
Margaret Sanger founded the American Birth Control League. You know that organization today as "Planned Parenthood".
Now, what was all that "right wing" nonsense about eugenics and Hitler?
If you don't learn how we got here, we will sail in a ship with no rudder.

I know. I feel pretty frustrated, too, sometimes. But I am the eternal optimist and glad of it.
I am not a Blame-the-Victim kinda guy, but I will say this:
Part of the reason we are in this shute-hole today is because people like you and I kept quiet for a lot of years. We worked, paid our bills, minded our own business and waited for "them" to come to their senses. They never did.
Maybe around 2000 I finally started to speak on forums and in personal conversations and started to call a spade a spade and to he!! with labels. I am silent no more. The WR was the first time I have ever been active in politics. It's never too late.
How can we expect better from the next generation if we don't have the will to tell them the truth?

Pretty big hammer for that little nail Rocky.
No need for the history lesson either.
My point was that what people thought of as progressive was actually quite pedestrian.
If they had really been interested in improving the human condition they wouldn't have taken the fast easy way.
They didn't have to do any of the horid things they did to make those discoveries.
They would have discovered them a bit later but they would have done so with a clear conscience.
As far as the sterilization's go...I'm willing to bet that it was seen by many as a way to save society from the burden of caring for people that they considered sub par.
What they didn't consider was that only primitives kill the weak.
So progress if your intent is to simply get rid of what some people considered to be a burden but in reality it was a giant leap backwards that lead to innumerable tragedies and suffering.
Science progressed while society actually regressed.

Your dont get it!! Nothing is out of context, and your intent is intact.....just because I remove your BLITHER, does not mean its out of context.....just focusing on your words.
And even if your statements are out of context, they would be enough to get you shot or labelled a racist in most circles. If you cant understand what statements your making then,......I dont know......your a lost cause.
First Einstein and now Freud......your getting warmer or at least closer to the couch.

Phillip Porter 1969.
I said the put him away when company was around.
They basically ignored him.
He was allowed out a bit but it wasn't like his parents really encouraged it.
People tended to avoid the handicapped and he was largely unseen like the homeless now.
You are beneath contempt.
I was 4 so I may have some things a bit mixed up but yeah...it was laugh riot.

I have been a political junkie for years. First with the Reform party, then the federal Conservatives and now WR. It is actually quite fun as long as a person does not take what others say to heart. My pass time is converting staunch NDP to federal Conservative. So far I have won over three people who were full blown NDP members. Not exactly earth shattering but fun.
Heck.. I should never admit this in public, but just out of high school I actually voted NDP. I think Churchill said " If you are not left wing when you are young you have no heart. If you are not Conservative when you are older you have no brain." The quote is probably messed up but close.

That will be my last post in reply to this.....but a point needed to be made as sometimes if your going to post fantasy as fact, your going to get called on it. And it detracts from the original post and the concepts being discussed.
So please don't close the thread....it needs to get back on track and the original issue......
