Trudeau bucks, it’s free money, right?

Keep hiding under the covers, in a couple of years this mess might be cleared up

It sure is, a buddy of mine sells hot tubs and is sold out until November. The CERB cheques make for nice payments on new things.

Oh well, at least we made it nearly a full page before the ‘I don’t care if I make anyone else sick’ crowd showed up ☹️

So everyone else should stay home but you. This thread is hilarious. Everyone here complaining about the crowds is doing so because they were part of the crowd. Unbelievable.

It’s not only the federal money that people are spending. All that money that would have left the country in the form of foreign trips/travel et al is now staying home and being spent domestically.

Yes for those that had savings, were furloughed at work to qualify for Trudeau dollars -- check the big toys -- quads, boats, RV's -- all having a great selling year.

I do not golf but my buddies do and have said the courses are booked more than a usual year and they have heard comments from people playing saying Trudeau dollars are covering the costs.

There was no comment made about everyone staying home, just a comment about the need to socially distance as a best practice. It is a best practice. The model of opening up with disregard for best practices for social distancing advocated by many in the US is foolish, and their numbers prove it. Opening up is not foolish, but opening up in a way that utilizes and applies best social distancing practices is our best hope for keeping things in check. I get out and am out right now, but I am social distancing because it is the best course of action to follow for my own health, the health of my loved ones, and the physical health of our society.

Slow down a bit on this. Yes we checked camp sites to determine which ones we were comfortable at - some yes - some no due to congestion -- this is a personal choice. You go where you want and feel comfortable and I will do the same. Social distancing is something we (me) have chosen to do due my health factors.

I also posted that people need to be aware of their own personal health constraints. A large number of people do not get annual physicals and due to not knowing on personal health factors could be on the severe side if infected. Again this is a personal choice -- play ball the way you want.

Me I will continue to watch hygiene carefully, social distance and be very wary of crowds or people I am not familiar with.

Everyone must comply but me. Not only should they comply, but they need to comply to my standards. The hypocrisy is pretty funny really.

Masks masks masks..........if masks work why is there an outbreak at a hospital?

Agreed, and that is using N95 masks. On top of which, the masks they want to mandate are NOT N95, any old piece of cloth will do. That is just so stupid it defies belief. IF you are going to go to the trouble of wearing a mask, at least wear one that works, and make sure you know how to wear it properly.

With respect to the whole social distancing thing, if they allow dentists to operate, haircuts, in restaurant eating, beauty shops et all, you sure aren't getting any social distancing there. For those at risk, don't engage in ANY of those types of activity if you can avoid it and take all possible precautions. For everyone else, we can't leave the world locked down and stuck in their homes forever. There is going to be higher levels of infections, more people going to hospital, and yes more people will die from it. No matter what Trudeau says, we can't keep paying people to sit home on their butts to avoid this virus. I wish this wasn't true but until a vaccine shows up, if it does, 1 or 2 years down the road, I don't see a viable alternative.

We pulled into Cow Lake by Rocky Mountain House yesterday as we are out camping in the back country south west of Rocky. Was hot out so we thought we would take the kids to the beach for a swim at Cow Lake. We pulled in there and the beach was packed with people crammed together like sardines in a can, the campground looked like an RV storage area the campers were so close together, the ice cream shop had 30-40 people lined up like cattle in the chute waiting to be loaded. We just turned around and headed back to our camping area and took the kids to the ice cold creek for a quick dip instead.

It is pretty funny, you’re right.

I’m out and doing my thing, why isn’t everyone else not at home hiding under the covers???

Casino's would be the greatest risk for catching the bug 100's of elderly people lined up like cattle, travelling is known to spread the virus yet people travel from all over to gamble in casinos , could just be natures way of culling the stupid.

I don't think many patients wear masks. As far as I know, very few front-line workers who have been using proper protective equipment have contracted the virus. See for example https://www.cnn.com/2020/07/11/us/ca...rus/index.html. I know it's CNN but other outlets have talked to the same physicians.

I think we also have to assume that there are relatively few people as infectious as those sick enough to be treated in hospital and that we are staying 2 m away from everybody in the first place, unlike the situation in hospitals.

The masks will just make everyone that much safer.

The reference is to masks. The thing is that those "certain individuals" are physicians, nurses, epidemiologists, contagious disease specialists and other scientists. That makes a difference to me when I'm trying to decide about mask wearing. I prefer to take the experts' word for it, considering that the only disagreement I hear is from non-experts.

Was just at Costco red deer. Normal busy. 50% of people wearing masks. I wore one, more out of respect for workers.

Ha ha. I agree but as others stated, Maybe money that was spend out in BC or the USA is now being spent here. Not all bad. I could care less about the crowds just pointing out a observation. Spending money at home isn’t a bad thing. Maybe everyone trying to display their freedom before the socialist take it away for good.

The Sylvan beach just got cleared out by a good thunderstorm with heavy rain, everyone went scrambling for their vehicles, perhaps a higher power had something to do with social distancing this afternoon.
