Was down in Idaho. Fishing was really slow. Not sure where the fish dispersed but super sparse all over the lake. If you want to see some pics, see the link. Couldn't share the pics here from instagram apparently. If I upload some elsewhere I may be able to.
Biggest 15 1/4" 2 pounds 3 ounces. Got another 14.5" went 2 pounds 0 ounce. Quite a few 14.5 to 15" around 1 pound 14 to 15 ounce. So even though numbers were not in our favor still had decent size. We were only averaging 5-6 bigger perch per person per day. Nothing hitting the stationary Jaw Jackers at all. The Jaw Jacker Jiggers were getting a few though. Which compared to the rest of the guys we talked to wasn't bad. Many from North Dakota, Wisconsin, Minnesota, Missouri all were having worse luck than we and they traveled up to 28 hours to fish. One guy had fished 7 days straight and said hadn't broken 14 inches. Said he could get that size back in North Dakota and came all the way to catch something over 15"
So just a warning to all those looking to strike it Perch Rich down in Idaho, just be warned that it is hit and miss like a lot of lakes. This year was off due to a die off of perch minnows. They are feeding heavily on blood worms. Electronics are a must as most of the perch we were catching were coming in 6 to 8 feet off bottom. Fish are a bit thinner this year and not as many 2 pounders around as last year. Anyways maybe a couple weeks left down there. Depends on weather as always.
Best of luck to anyone heading down.
