Default Recoil Pads?

I have recently acquired a Baikal Single shot 12 gauge 2 3/4''. I got out to the farm and set up the thrower and shot 20 in a row. I was very pleased and wanted to continue but felt some discomfort in my shoulder and didn't want to break the streak i was on so i called in a day. Man did i get made fun of by the brother and buddy

My Question is what do you guys recommend for a recoil pad i could put on this gun. I want to use it as a trap gun but i need to be able to shoot more without the discomfort.

Any input is much appreciated.

Thanks

I prefer the decelerator to the limbsaver and they even sell a sporting clays version with a hard plastic piece on the heel of the pad to prevent hang ups when shouldering the shotgun.

Is there any chance at all that i could get one that will fit this shotgun or should i get one that i have to fit myself? Also are the slip on pads any good? I looked at both Limbsaver and Pachmayr and they both offer slip on pads would these work all right?

They are not widely available in Alberta, but KICK-EEZ pads are very good. They have both pre-fit and grind to fit models. For hunting or gun down clay shooting the Sporting model with the rounded heel helps reduce hang ups on your gun mount.

I order from Precision Reloading in South Dakota. They give great service and the price is reasonable.

my limbsaver pads are some of the best money i ever spent. precision looks nicer, but slip on will go on any gun you choose and installs easy. cant go wrong either way.

Canadian Tire slip on. If the length of pull is too short, slip on on another recoil pad.

Don't laugh. I use this method on my Cooey Model 37.

Your gun is not even worth the prices listed for the above mentioned recoil pads. Good to see that it continues to function though.

I love this gun, and is it not up to me what is worth putting on it. I appreciate the advice but i want to keep my gun looking good. i don't want to throw something on it and make it look like garbage.

Then any slip on pad is out of the question.

How about getting a Past Recoil Pad that you wear. IMO a grind to fit Limbsaver wouldn't be worth it for that shotgun. Maybe it has sentimental value but I've got one of those single shot Baikals. I paid $100 for it.

X whatever on the limbsaver. Have one on my 870 and I can shoot 150 rounds without pain and I am recoil sensitive. Likely have to go grind to fit for that model but they look good if you take time and do a good job.

Maybe I should elaborate. There is some pain the next day if i shoot again but i do not feel i need to stop shooting because I am uncomfortable. Doesn't make me an iron man. It is not uncommon to shoot 150 rounds of target loads at a clay shoot many many people do that.
