Default ROOKIE HAVING ISSUES!! Help

So I decided to take up fly fishing and am super pumped about it. Except for the fact that I've been out a pile of times and haven't even had a bite! I've tried all sorts of different flies, all sorts of different areas on the rivers and nothing. It's very frustrating and I really want to get into the sport but seeing no action is getting very discouraging. Some advice would be greatly appreciated. I live near the calgary area and have fished the bow and crowsnest pass for trout and some local pike lakes. If that helps

Look for back eddys and slow moving water, large boulders in deep pools, over hanging trees or fallen logs are excellent hideouts for fish, and be sneaky, fish can see above the water.

I don't know much about matching the hatch, but I have about a half dozen or so "go to" flies for the fish I'm after that alway instigate a strike. If there are fish in the hole I can usually hook up.
