Default Barnes TSX 160g

http://www.barnesbullets.com/wp-cont...MagnumWeb1.pdf

http://www.barnesbullets.com/images/BRM3281.jpg

Look at the two pages.
One has the B.C. of .508 and the other has .392
Why the difference

You are comparing two different bullets, the first being a TSX the other being an original X bullet with no grooves.

If you really want to use a good bullet use the Nosler Accubonds 160Gr. spitzer has a B.C of 0.531

It's a good bullet, but it doesn't break bones and penetrate like a TSX on larger game like elk and moose.

I beg to differ!! I killed a moose with one shot. When I killed my Ram bone on the off side leg was missing as well where the bullet had exited the body. The same thing with a whitetail.

One moose with one shot doesn't necessarily prove anything about breaking bone or penetration.Unless the bullet penetrated both shoulders ,it proves nothing. As far as kills on sheep or deer are concerned, they are much smaller than elk or moose, they are smaller boned, and they require less penetration.

How many kills made with a TSX have you cleaned the animals and compared the damage?I have cleaned several animals shot with the TSX or MRX as well as with the Accubond, and the Accubond does not hold together as well or penetrate as well, especially when heavy bone is struck.

I've never had to shoot any animal in the leg, it's always behind the leg for me.

Obviously your bullets do hit leg bones from time to time.

Do you turn down all quartering toward you shots? If you take them, your bullet must pass through the shoulder to get to the heart and lungs.

The original poster was specifically asking about the TSX.Hence the title of the thread.

Yes he asked a simple question. He did not ask how an accubond or a tsx worked. You and all the others that like bashing other bullets.Quit it. You like barnes so use them.If you like anything else use it.I hate some bullets but I am not posting it to start a fight. Thanks anyway...

I didn't bash any bullets on this thread,in fact I posted that the Accubond was a good bullet.I just added that it didn't penetrate as well as the TSX which is the bullet that the original poster asked about.

Ram Crazy posted that if he wanted a good bullet,he should use the Accubond.By doing so,he if anyone insinuated that the TSX was not a good bullet.

I didn't say the TSX was not a good bullet, I just said that the Nosler was a good bullet. I also have a rifle that I still use good old Speer Boattails in and not too many animals have walked away from those bullets as well. And if read my post about hitting animals it was said on the off leg and not hitting the leg first. So I have learned not to shoot to many animals in the legs!!

Post #18....sounds like the same thing thats been said before. Yes, everyone sees it and doesnt need it pointed out. Its a public message board, there will always be differing opinions, and always people will think that what they use is better and will argue to the bitter end. Bullets, trucks, backpacks, cameras, bows, rifles, etc. Without the pointless banter, the internet would be a dull place with factual conversations only.

If it bothers ya that much, the easy to fix. Turn the internet off.
