Similar to Sheephunters thread about What game have you taken that is avalible in NA.
Using the AF&GA Wildlife records book for the spiecies avalible to Alberta hunters hunting in our province.
Bighorn Sheep
Elk
White-tailed Deer
Mule Deer
Moose
Black Bear
Grizzly Bear(hunted in recent times)
Pronghorn
Rocky Mountain Goat(limited opportunity)
Cougar
Mountain Caribou(not huntable here for many years)
Timber Wolf
Lets add Coyote as they are avalible and popular to hunt.
Thats 13 that may have been harvested by Albertans in Alberta in the past. (Caribou and Grizzly debateable if we should include them and goat permits are sure rare)
I have never held a permit for Caribou, Grizzly, Goat or Cougar.
And those are the animals I have not harvested from the above list.
While bison and bobcat are not eligible for the Alberta record book, they are more great huntable species in this province.
I've been fortunate enough to take all the Alberta species although my goat, caribou and grizz did not come from Alberta. What a great province we live in!
I have taken the species below, however my grizzly, mountain goat and cougar were taken in B.C.
Bighorn Sheep
Elk
White-tailed Deer
Mule Deer
Moose
Black Bear
Grizzly Bear
Pronghorn
Rocky Mountain Goat
Cougar
Timber Wolf
