Default Homestead Winter Access

I've never been up there in the winter, so I'm wondering what the road conditions are usually like throughout the season on Homestead Road. Is it maintained? Is 4WD mandatory?

in the past they have kept it ploughed so it is accessible by a car. I was there at the end of November and the road was open.

I've never had any issues in a car.

I was there a couple times in the winter over the last couple years where a 2WD car with all season tires would be in trouble. But when the access is difficult it's less busy there, so there is pros and cons to it.

I was out to the range a couple weeks ago and drove past Homestead Road (picking up a tree) last weekend. The road was plowed so it should be fine for a car (or as good as that road ever is for a car).

Was out there less than a week ago in a car. Good roads all the way.
