I was out there yesterday with my son. Ice is 14"-18" thick at the launch.
Got out late and had a bugger of a time drilling holes. (note to self, hand cutting holes a week after hernia repair is not a great idea.)
There was a group fishing 40' off the ramp who cut us a few holes, THANKS!!
They caught a dozen of so early in the day but the action had tapered off by the time we got there. My son had a blast just watching his hook drop and cleaning holes. We will be back next weekend, just a little earlier in the day.

Gots ta get me cod on!

I'm thinking of heading to Pine Coulee myself tomorrow for the first time. What depth of water and set-ups/bait seem to be working for the walleye and burbot? Any help would be appreciated!

Good fishing!

Default Burb Fishing

hey guys I notice you fishing here. We fished it by boat all summer but would like to try for Burbs in winter. Have you ever tried near the south end. We have a small shack in tow and need to be able to drive it on. I did't notice a road going down to the ice at the northern end so was thinking maybe trying the south. Any comments or ideas. I maybe interested in meeting up for a late afternoon quick fishing. Let me know if you are going on a Monday to Wednesdays(my days off this January).

Default Pine Coulee

Looking to head down on New Years Day with the familly I have never fished it before, also maybe Clear Lk on the East side of Stavely depending on the action. Any advice would be appreaciated.
Thanks.

Burbot, Eelpout, Fresh water cod.

"battered manna from Heaven"

Also the ugliest thing to come out of the water in Alberta.
