I don't think it's to bad. Once a few drive across in the same track or we get more snow it will be fine.

Drilled some test holes in French Bay yesterday. In front of the boat launch to the shore just north was 9 to 4.5 inches. Going to take the quad out tomorrow.

Step 1: Drill hole in ice.
Step 2: Lower hook to desired depth.
Step 3: Jig it till a fish bites.
Step 4: Reel in fish.
Step 5: Cook and enjoy with a cold beer or warm spirit!!!

I agree with Save the Salmon. I also notice that there are TWO trout in the photo; one in his hands, and one on the ice. THE LIMIT IS ONE! What part of the regs does this guy not understand! Or has he LOST the ability to read the regs?

Some people are really smart when they post pictures. Fingers in the gills is a really great catch and release technique!! I think I see a gaff in the forground too??

Chalk up another to hooking mortality!!!!

I wonder who took the photo? Probably the owner of the other fish? Hmmmm I wonder.

And if he caught his fish on the Sask side, a gaff is still legal.

Watch the ice, guys. Just got back in; walked out on French Bay to where I normally fish, just for a look-see. There was only 3 1/2 inches of ice when I put down a couple of holes. The ice thickness is really varioable. I wouldn't take a quad or an ATV out until the ice thickens a bit more. And I've lived here for forty years.

The seismic boys got a buggy stuck in my front yard today. The snow is insulating the marsh grass and the water there isn't froze yet ! Take care out there , keep us posted on the thickness.
