If you are really interested you can go on Google earth and trace both incoming canals back to the same dam at Bassano.

McGregor water comes from the bow diverted at the Carseland weir. Newell water comes from the bow diverted at the Bassano dam.

Newell looks like its up now, the bay I checked was frozen and I couldnt break through the ice by stomping on it just cracked. any fat guys want to check it for me?  the main lake looked like it still had waves on it. might not be long now!

hmm how much do you weigh?  I might take an axe end of the week and see how thick it is. or just go fish another local lake thats a lot shallower. saw my first snowy of the season too, I didnt see her at all last year hopefully her young came back too
