looked like they were redoing the dam at the end. no evidence of a boat launch.

That's what i saw too, a launch would require a parking lot, some crappers and ...

Really wouldn't that bad of an idea though.

Odd. I was standing on it a couple weeks ago.... Juts out from the east side of the lake, where the walk in from the highway is.

Do you still have to climb over the barbed wire fence there? Or is there an actual driveway that will be open to use? I searched all over the Chain Lakes PP site about announcements/notices etc. and couldn't find any info. That will be awesome if it is a new boat launch. We drove up there with the inflatable, motor, battery, our gear...I took one look at the fence and 300 yard hike...yeah, back to the day use area I went lol.

You COULD put a road straight down from where you took this picture and they do have a barbed wire gate further down the hill that you can open, but it appears that the actual approach road will start off on the Indian Graves road and you will drive along the top of the damn to get to the launch. I'm not 100% sure, but that's what it looks like so far.

Huh. Cool. We're heading down there for a quick over-nighter on the 29/30th.(Sept) I'll have to check it out. I'll take pics if I get up to that end.
