Default Grassy Lake Fishing Update

Hi folks. I'm pretty new to posting on here but Ive been around for a bit. I was wondering how the fishing has been at Grassy in the last couple of weeks. I would like to head out there this weekend after the gunshow.

Is typical Sherburn....... Slow then hot then slow. Be prepared to move lots if your looking for perch.

Well, I did my part to help thin out the population of dink perch on Saturday. Sad to say that this is the reality and typical out there, definitely not what it used to be. Roughly 18" of ice everywhere I drilled. I was probably the only one not driving on but only because I haven't had my vehicle inspected by SMRID for mussels yet.

Stupid question, but I'm new to the area. When people say "Grassy Lake," are they referring to Sherburne? Also, I've heard that there are sturgeon in Grassy Lake, but the regs for Sherburne don't say anything about sturgeon, and I've also never heard of sturgeon in southern Alberta lakes. Any help would be appreciated

First question is a yes. Second question, Grassy Lake when in the context of sturgeon refers to the grand forks of the South Saskatchewan river. It is where the Bow and the Oldman rivers join to make the SSR. It is near the town of Grassy Lake.
