Default Crawling Valley

Well, we had a terrific day on Crawling Valley yesterday. The weather was perfect and the wind never gave us a problem. Water temperature was 67 F and I think that may have been a factor in the slow fishing. We ended up with 5 Pike and one Walleye (all returned to the lake) between the three of us. Two lures seemed to work best. The old tried and true Len Thompson 5 of diamonds and a Williams Wabbler with a Pike finish to it were the producers this time. We tried every drop-off we knew about but were only able to get small strikes to start with. It wasn't until after 12 noon that they started getting serious. Only on smaller walleye was caught. Even with sun screen I still managed a sun burn. Lots of campers in the campground and lots of boats out on the lake. It seems the Pike have spread out now. Might be able to get one more trip in later in September.
