Default Beretta A301 starting to show its age

This gun was passed down to me from my father. We hunted rabbit, grouse and ptarmigan together in Newfoundland when I was a kid and I always remember him carrying this gun. The plug is a piece of willow, hand cut by him. Needless to say this gun is special to me.

I have hunted upland with it in Alberta for years but now it is starting to show its age. The stocks are in good shape but need refreshing and the blue is faded and shows early signs of corrosion.

I am a handyman and would easily consider tackling this job. I have re-stained stocks and re blued single shot barrels as a kid but just as an experiment, however the results were by no means professional.

The gun was modified by my father (vented rib barrel with Polychoke). Does anyone have experience in getting a 1970's era gun "refreshed" to like new condition? How and at what cost? Professional and DIY comments welcome.
