Default Canoe carrier on truck?

So I have a crew cab chevy with a roll & lock, I want to haul a canoe this summer but not sure if I can just use cross members on the cab or do I need additional support?

I pull a travel trailer so i can't mount a support to the hitch.

I may try to modify the roll and lock to accommodate risers off the box.

Any suggestions?

Hit up a rack store and get a Thule or whatever the other name is. You can get clips to clamp onto any vehicle car door frame. I use to run 2-17' kayaks on a set on my 01 Silverado Ext Cab. Put them as far forward and backwards as you can and you're good to go. Tie them down at the bow and stern if traveling at high speeds or long distances.

Oh yeah, watch out for parking garages and low clearances....just saying!!!
