Default Cold Lake Newby question - Where to park truck?

Good day folks. I'm looking at heading to Cold Lake for the first time ever (that is not work related) and try my luck at the hard water fishing. After seeing all of the comments about truck access / flood water and such I'll be taking my ski-doo and sled to get around. But since I have never been out there I am not sure where a guy can park his truck / trailer while off on snow machine.

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks Folks!

There is a big parking area at the Provincial Park on the left before you go down the hill to the launch. A lot of guys also park on the ice and unload sleds and gear 30 or 40 yards out from the launch. From there you can fish off the Provincial Park point or head across to Garnett. At English Bay there is parking close to the boat launch at the Provincial Recreation Area. Apparently there is a pressure ridge just out from the launch so be aware of that if you go there. Can't speak to the marina, or French Bay as I haven't fished those areas.

Provincial park as said above would be my choice then you got the complete lake to run and gun.
French bay MD campground has no parking unless you go out on the ice as it has not been maintained for some time but I just got back off the ice seeing the conditions and if I was to head out it would be to park at the provincial park parking lot, unload and then hit the ice.
Will talk more on the cold lake thread about the ice and lake travel.
Good luck

Technically you can not unload sleds/quads in that big parking area as it is within the park. That being said, I have done it numerous times and as long as you stay on the road and go directly on to the lake and off of the lake, Ive personally never had an issue. I do know guys that have gotten tickets but it was because they were being idiots and decided to go through the bush instead of the road.

And wear your bucket too....tickets in the past for riding without one.
Slow down too....it’s a provincial park 30clicks per hour with people walking and enjoying the outdoors, roads are slippery.
