Cranes

I'm down on the north side of Pigeon lake and we are seeing and hearing cranes by the 1000's
I have never seen them here in 40 years
Is there a large population boom of them this year?

This year? more like the last 5-10 years. There's tons of them now, in many places no one has ever seen them. But the same biologists who couldn't find grizzly bears because they all must be black bears, can't find any sandhill cranes because they all must be whooping cranes... so don't bother asking about hunting them.

Parked my vehicle to walk back into my spread. Had 8 standing there within 10 ft of my blinds lol. Every year more and more. Last several years our population is getting healthy. I hope they decide to give us an opportunity. Save me a drive to sask lol

We had a flock of about 20-30 fly overhead this morning do they ever make a racket

Yup had about 5 million fly over head near Alsike a few days ago.

Not sure how this is acceptable that they're protected here. From far away thought they're snows.
