Default Ice on trout ponds

Hi their just wondering if any of the trout ponds around Calgary, like dickson, have walkable ice yet?

I've been down in the Lethbridge area hunting for the last few days, and no body of water that we drove by had any ice on it. If there's anything around that does have ice, I'd guess it would be extremely unsafe to venture on to. We've had a mild fall, it will likely be quite a few more weeks, unless we get a bit of an extended cold snap.

I would say no, nothing down here is close to safe.

Up Edmonton way we were still fishing open water on trout ponds yesterday...

Right on thanks for the info guys, I'm assuming that PCR has little to no ice then. Anybody been by their lately?

My best guess for safe ice in the south is going to be Boxing Day

I wont be driving on for a long time but I figure on punching holes before the end of the month. Even if its by tossing big rocks from the shore and using a ten foot rod!!!
