Who sells a very good reasonably priced inch pound torque screwdriver?

I got mine at Can Tire,Mastercraft on sale.
Can’t compare to FatWrench because it’s the only ft lb torque wrench I’ve ever used but as soon as you call something a “gunsmith tool” the price doubles or triples. For a guy like me that uses it a few times a year to mount a new scope or torque action screws after a thorough annual cleaning it works for me.If you are a professional gunsmith your mileage may vary?
That said I’ve always had good luck with Mastercraft tools and guaranteed for life,I’ve maybe had the guts replaced on 2 or 3 ratchets ever, but again,I’m no pro mechanic nor gunsmith.

Fat Wrench has likely never been a regretted purchase.

Just bought one at P&D for $77 plus tax. Digital ones were over $100.

Snapon or CDI. CDI is owned by snap on and is who builds their torque wrenches, the CDI are quite a bit cheaper. A torque instrument isnt of much use if you cant have it calibrated periodically.

I personally would not get “torqued up “😁 if my torque screwdriver is past it certificated date. In fact if one snoops the internet you can find new torque tools that are past their certification date. There is nothing wrong with them just past there certification date. We are not building helicopters or space shuttles . Just my opinion. I will choose my past date Utica torque drive anytime over a new Wheeler

Agree 100% with Robmcleod82 "A torque instrument isn't of much use if you cant have it calibrated periodically." This applies to any type of torque wrench regardless of manufacture.

I use a proto, but being north of $300 it may not be considered "reasonably priced"

Fat wrench is awesome. I first bought a inch pound torque wrench from princess auto, but the fat wrench is much much better.

If you dont get it calibrated how do you know its achieving torque? Ive spent more than half my life getting payed to torque stuff and had more than a few high quality torque wrenches crap their pants. They tend to do so without warning, we are not building rockets or helicopters no, but crushing a scope tube or breaking fasteners is not a very desireable outcome. When swarovski tells you if there is more than 17inch pounds on rings on their scopes it will wreck them it makes me a little concerened about my torque.

I use a Fat Wrench for action screws but have never torqued ring or base screws. On rings I use a “finger tip” hold on the screwdriver ... on bases I stop just a tad before my knuckles turn white. Never had scope move or needed to use locktite.

I have the yellow walkers fat wrench as well - it's idiot proof - so perfect for me.

Helps me set my torque properly and that, with a little dab of blue keeps the bases on the receiver and rings solid without having to over-torque them.

I set these under 20. Over-tightening small screws like that could really suck.
