@ Penner- Thanks man, that rod is a heav action 10'6 trolling rod made by some ancient brand that we just popped a spinning reel on. . Its really old and we used to use it on the saltchuck for springs and as our primary salmon rod. It worked great as it has tons of backbone and we landed dozens of tyees and acouple over 50 on this rod. Thats why we were so surprised how this fish could torque the **** out of it lol.
