any suggestions on how to get rid of the smell of fish in my trout net? preferably something enviro friendly and non acidic so it doesnt hurt net or wood frame.
Wet it, then work table salt all over/into the mesh and soak it in lemon juice (citric acid isn't overly strong), for a little while (20-30 mins), rinse with water ....air dry outside should be good to go!
There is a product you can get from your local pet store called "Natures Miracle" as well, I am pretty sure it is all natural. It is made for stuff like cat pee but I know it also works fantastic for removing smoke odor and I bet it would take that fish odor out easily.
Washing a fishing net will wash off its good Karma. Just be happy you have put enough fish in it so it actually smells. Its kind of like slapping the fish gods in the face. You'll regret it.
