I am no authority on it but I believe a trappers license and a trap line....although some people have authority to snare and trap for pest control (ie. pest control officers/companies) The average Joe is really not allowed to snare coyotes....

If you get your trapping license you can snare coyotes on any private land you have permission on.

Need to take trapping course and then get a residential trapping permit to trap land that does not belong to a registered trapline (includes private and crown land)

actually all you need is land and a "damage permit" from fish and wildlife. i was going to do the whole trapping coarse thing myself to get rid of nussance yotees but after talking to F&W this was the better way to go. if you get your trapping liscence you have to keep the hydes, where as with a damage permit, you can do what you like with the fur. ( i have no want so they hit the bush)

call your local F&W office and they will set you up!

(P.S. you cant do this on crown land, you have to own the land)

If you have no need for the yotes ,why not give or donate them to an organization that could make use of them, and maybe make a few bucks to help thier cause.

You need a trapping license, either a resident trapping license of a Registered Trapping license.

Snares* for taking fur-bearing animals may only be set by
holders of Registered Fur Management Licences or
— by holders of Resident Fur Management Licences for
bobcat, coyote, fox, squirrel or wolf (provided they meet
the requirements listed in this section) and for beaver
(provided the snare loop is completely under water).

But be aware, a resident trapping license only allows one to trap on private land that they have right of access to and some crown land not within a registered trap line.

Crown land not included in a registered trap line may be applied for through F&W on a per quarter basis. One must fill out one form Form WA 19A for each quarter one is interested in and submit it to F&W within the district said land is located.

This form is the same one a person must get filled out by the landowner for trapping access to private land.
