Enmax Easymax
So I've been with Easymax the past few years, and at the time it seemed like a logical choice when the wife signed up. I like the fact that everything is on one bill and can be paid in one shot.
Well I guess our contract is up and they are looking for us to renew. My question is whether or not some of you folks are signed up as well and the pros and cons. I typically don't follow the utilities in great detail, although I understand electricity is going up in price with the newer transmission lines being built and natural gas seems to be at an all time low. Thanks in advance for any feedback.

Just switched. With Epcor prices of between 10 and 11 cents on last couple statements, can't see prices going DOWN as winter settles in.

Floating rates are near double around my area. I took the $0.08 contract for gas.
If there's a contract for electricity much the same as gas, I need to look into it.

That sounds backwards. Should be .08/kwh, and I think most float their gas?

Right now we have the .08 per kWh rate for electricity and a floating rate for gas. I'd like to lock in again for electricity but I'm not sure about the gas. It seems the bend you over with the administration, delivery, distribution and transmission charges.....One would think delivery, distribution and transmission were the same thing.

you would be wise to stay with enmax easy max ,, they save me over 400 a month in power costs alone.

You're probably correct. I'll check.
*Just checked.* You're right, I had it backwards. There's an option for a 5yr gas plan as well but I think the floating gas rate is lower. So I'll leave it.
Side note, I have $68.74 in rewards credit. Ah yeah suckas.

enmax easymax
For me it's not the cost of the electricity or gas it's the ridiculous distribution charges which you pay regardless if your with Enmax or not. For September my electricity usage cost $45.86
Distribition charge $66.37
Deposit reserve $15.00
Atco transmission charge $37.57
Brushing tariff $20.00
Atco rider S (?) $1.73
Gst. $9.20
Total. $193.35
Gas for September was $1.83
Monthly fixed charge $30.00
Rreserve Fund $2.00
Gst. $1.59
I paid as much in GST on the delivery charges as the amount of nat.gas that I used.....
stupid, ridiculous, dumb....

Enmax is the best company I have found. I would stay with them. Saved me a lot of money.

Thanks for the insight guys, looks like my best bet is to renew my contract for the electricity rate. I've always had the floating gas rate. I usually let the wife deal with this stuff.

if you sign up you can flip back to floating with one month's notice, no fees. Go fixed electricity, float gas.
