Buddy of mine uses the binos...but not the rangefinding ones.

Amazing glass....not as comfy as the Swaros but every bit as good.

Sorry can't help with the rangefinder part...may add some weight.

If you're looking for a combo like these, it is probably the best that you'll find IMO.

I got a pair and they are GREAT! It is really nice to have that range finder built in! Have ranged out to 1340yrds (Big Rock) have had a few times in bad weather that they won't range real far but I think that is with any range finder.
And as far as the glass goes, they are crystal clear! Can glass for a long time and not bother your eyes one bit.

Yeah they are pricey, but the cost of your sworo's and your leica 1200 combined and I bet you are not to far off the Geovids!?!?! None the less sounds like you still got a great set up.

Yup, I use them , and they are the first thing i pack when out hinking or even driving to work!
They are super clear and very accurate.
You can hold the button down to range a critter coming either to you are going away, they change range by the yard!
I paid $2,100 for mine IIRC.

My buddy has them and likes them. He said they don't range well in heavy fog though.

No laser works well in heavy fog...

In any case I borrowed my dads 10X Geovids last year for a few trips. Fantastic piece of equipment! Ranged out to 1344yards

Quite simply I love mine, ranged out to 1240 yards. The only thing I didn't like was the cost. Bought mine at White tail ridge in Debolt, Donny gave me the cheapest price.

Best binos that i have invested in!!! Little pricey, but if you watch ebay as well as cameralandny, you will find great deals. Have had mine for the last 2 years and either hunting in the mountains for elk or on cutlines for deer, they are always around my neck. Work great in early morning light and late evening.

I had a pair of Minox (low end Leicas) binos until I purchased the Geovids that I thought were pretty good but now they are very difficult to bring to my face anymore. You won't be disappointed they are great.

Default Leica's

I have 8x42 Geovids and every time I lend them to someone they have a hard time remembering to bring them back. Worked real well at the last Van Morrison concert, and Bob Dylan. FS

I really like mine. The only minor complaint is that the ranging button is on the left side of the binocular, making one handed ranging while bow hunting impossible. It will be really interesting to see Zeiss's new rangefinding binocular- the RFL Victory I believe? It would also be cool to see the Geovid glass updated to the same glass used in the Ultravid HD's.

I love Leica but I am not so sure about having my rangefinder in the binos...it electronic and it will fail eventually and then you are out your binos as well as a rangefinder if you send it away to get fixed...that would really suck.

Rob this is exactly why I have not bought a pair. I tend to be pretty clumsy at times and no doubt I would drop them. I will stick to 2 seperate units because of this.

I also heard that the glass in the geovids is not their top end? Should be for nearly 3k.

I love mine. I found I was spending too much time fumbling around for my binos, then my range-finder, then putting the rifle scope on an animal. My 10 x 42 geovids cut out one extra piece of equipment.
Excellent glass, and an excellent rangefinder.
I was looking at the rangefinder/rifle scope combos, but I often range without intending to shoot, and as another thread attests, that can lead to dangerous situations.

I've had mine for a couple of years now and just love them. When I first got them I had a hard time ranging past 300 yards. I sent them in to get checked out and got them back in less than 1 month. They re-calibrated them and gave them a good cleaning. They work great now. The only thing I wish is that the button for the rangefinder was on the right side instead of the left.

Zeiss was smart enough to incorporate the rangefinder button on the correct side for right handed people holding a gun or bow in the left hand. This would be my only beef about the Leicas as well.
