Ok, lets say they bring in either a PST or HST this term. Would the WR do away with it when they get the next majority government? Would be a good election promise but...would they, could they.

Ask the ones who voted for her. It must be in her platform. You know the one he made on the napkin from the cafe.

Smith's idea to pay $300 dividends from energy after the budget was balanced and bills were paid was un workable according to REdford.

HOWEVER the $500 more for every teacher was fine. Guess where that money is coming from. Not from energy, and not from a balanced budget.

I think the PCs are giving grants to KY to develop new flavors of lubricant.

I'm afraid the next four years will require a very strong topical anesthetic regardless of flavor.

$500 is a tax credit, how much will that work out to in real dollars?

Hiring 1400 more teachers, support workers and aides, where did Danielle get that money from?

From balancing the budget

We do not have an income problem here we have the same problem that some have with maxed out credit cards and personal debt.
Management problems.

Odd one party suggests a wage cut for Mla's to serve as an example for belt tightening and the other promises way more debt after the deficit budget is brought down. And now more raises for MLa's????

Redfrog, you said teachers are getting 500 bucks and as stated above it is a TAX CREDIT. You also state there is a wage increase for MLA's. Where did you get that from? There was just a study and recommendations that came from it. I see no evidence of any increase being implemented. Sales tax?? Don't see anything being implemented there either.

Hey, the election is over. Stick to the facts, not your imaginary version of things. LOL

My imaginary version??? What is the title of this thread? What did the OP ask?

Lace up your Hong Kong go fasters and try to keep up.

Instead of nit picking one word from my post and denying everything else. tell me why the report on MLA wages wasn't released prior to the election?

Are you saying there will no sales tax, no wage increases ?

Where is Redford getting the money to implement all her campaign promises?

Just because the election is over does not mean that PCs get free rein.

No blank check. Pay the bills.

Is it possible that there are actually conservatives in the PC party? Is it possible that they will ride herd on Queenie Redford? Anyone see the possibility of a short honeymoon then out with the knives?
HOw many Liberals are there now in the PC party?

I think that was possible if they had only been given a minority or a very slim majority. Not now. She can claim to have "saved" the PC Party and paddled their canoe to Edmonton. Oink!

No, it wasn't. But I guess you know that.

It was obvious pandering with our money. Expect to see more of it.

Over the last 10 years of PC government, public employees (bureaucrats, teachers, police, etc. etc. etc.) have seen an average wage increase of 119%.

I agree. I have a black lab in here for company. He has a horrible habit of eating horse turds. I thought there was nothing more vile than a horse turd turned to gas as it travels through the gut of a labrador. Wait for it. I was wrong. Yep totally wrong. He got a hold of a pc flyer that was left in the door and ate the dang thing.
I'm here to say I've been schooled. Total manure going in and toxic gas coming out. If this keeps up I'll install a couple of scrubbers and get off the grid.

Darius, you can return to your mat under the bridge. I have no time to play with you today. You'll have to play with yourself.
OH and when you sign off it's not 'Troll away" it's "Troll out!"
Hope this helps.

I haven't looked at the list of PC who got elected because one clown looks the same as the next to me, but I was wondering if some of the real conservatives got elected and Redford's rangers topped up the crew.

OLd conservative supporters voting for old cons and new enlightened Liberals voting for the new improved cons. Is it possible?

Default no need to worry...straight from the horses mouth..

http://www.edmontonsun.com/videos/se...0804001/page/1

"Alberta will never have a provincial sales tax." Premier Mom.

Also...premier Mom promises to follow through on Campaign promises on labour act, or not. Quite possibly theee most stunning sequence of political bafflegab EVER caught on tape. (or whatever digital media was used at the time). You don't learn this stuff overnight folks.

http://www.sunnewsnetwork.ca/video/1573876789001

In other non-related news Redford says Alberta should institute a 5% FEE on the sales of goods in the province.

"oh , thats right you don 't have a day job "

finally posted something that was true. you are right no day job, but i do have some serious decisions to make. should I throw the bumper for the dog or go fishing? Or maybe throw a saddle on one of my horses and go try to find some morels.

I've got it I'll head over to my daughter's and take my grand daughter fishing.

You should research your facts before using them to paint with such wide brush strokes! 119% raise over 10 years! That report was dismissed by 3 different profs from 3 different universities in Alberta as it does not represent the truth. Think the past 3 years the raise was a whopping 4% total. Man those other 7 years must have been huge!!

The WRP has done very well at the trough and will continue to do so. Hinman
has perfected the art of the flip flop and now is not going to pay back the money from the no meet committee. Will the WRP do the honorable thing and
refund the taxpayers this money? Where is Danielle showing leadership on
this? Hiring 1400 more teachers, aides and support workers is not panderinv to
that union??

You who want to make accusations about the recently released Major report on MLA salaries about it being a conspiracy that ts wasn't released till after the election and that it was a predetermined outcome, I would suggest you grow a set and go to the retired judge and accuse him to his face. I may suugest you have a good lawyer handy as you may need one. That is the proper way to deal with your angst instead of crying the blues on here with unfounded accusations.

And to even mention fear mongering by the PC's without acknowledging your own world class fear mongering over PST, MLA raises etc is laughable at best. If the PST and MLA raises do become fact then trust me, I will be as ****ed as the next guy. In fact pretty sure I have been supporting the Alliance/WRP longer than a lot of voters as I never bought any of the kool aid Ralph was selling!

The one who is going fishing is 4 1/2 . She's my first.

The one in the hospital is 19 months and she is the youngest.
She made a turn for the better last week about this time and has been improving since. She is awake [two days now] but still sedated some times as she goes through withdrawal from the morphine and methadone.

She is breathing on her own, all her stat numbers are good and her surgery is healing well. She started chemo last Sat. 19 weeks of that and hopefully she is done with hospitals. She may be moved from icu today or tomorrow. She is talking and is glad to have her mom back.

The first priority will be looking after themselves with raises for MLA's. That's what they did in '08 and Redford has already set it up with the Judge's report/recommendations. The spin will be that it's okay because they will settle for less than what he recommended. She has to do this fast so taxpayers have time to forget between elections.

Next will be a sin tax on alcohol and tobacco. No point in pizzing the whole province off all at once. If the tax doesn't effect them they won't care where the money comes from.

There's gonna have to be some creative thinking and innovative ways of taxing Albertans and I think that there will be smaller, off the radar type tax increases before Redford will institute a PST. If and when she ever does, it'll be a last resort and proof that the ship is sinking.
