Read up on the blackfoot before you decide to head in there, it has its own set of rules and regulations.

Default Not to many deer.

I've probably walked the area 20 or 30 times. Saw less then 10 deer total. Lots of elk and a few moose. Saw over 100 elk and a couple dozen moose. There are big deer in there but you have to hunt them hard.

Could you shoot a .22 in there just for target practice? Like if you went to a isolated spot in there and set up in front of a hill would it be OK? would you still have to get a discharge permit to target practice?

That's the country, do whatever you like. The discharge permit is only for hunting in the Blackfoot.

Default There is no target shooting witting the boundaries of Blackfoot/ cooking lake.

Do so at your own risk.
