Default March gopher shooting

I have seen them out im just wondering how many of you have recently been gopher shooting because im planning on going tomorrow. Are they skitish this time of the year? because its going to be hard to get into 22 range with 2 feet of snow still on the ground in the duffield/ stony plain area. Share your successes, how many have you gotten total this spring and what gun were you using.

Saw the first ones today, they are very stupid when they first come up. I only had the 223 with me so I let a few have it. Tomorrow I will grab the 22 mag. It helped that I could push a few trails with the tractor to get closer.

I know a with a rodenator propane system.

He must be "warming" the little critters real good with all this snow.

The gophers were out in full force today, I never had a rifle with me though. It's a sign though that spring is around the corner!

I live in Bon Accord and they are everywhere up here...looking at getting a new .22LR to in the next couple weeks cant wait to use it on those guys. A .243 is a little too expensive to hit them with. Although I can see them before the hawks can. lol

Default Gophers out

Gophers at this time of year are as dumb as they come. I'm going out with my daughter on Sunday. Going to hammer them with the .204

I got a pile of em today with the .22. You could spot em a couple hundred yards out on the snow and they'd just stay there and watch you walk up and shoot em.

Default Got 4 today!

Stopped by the pasture on my way home from work. What a beautiful afternoon for a walk! I got 4 with my Diamond Stud flinging some Easton Powerflights topped with 100gr judo points. They seemed to be a little less skiddish than usual. There were 2 standing on a mound about 30 yards out I smoked the first one one the second one didn't even seemed to notice so I nailed that one too. Could have got plenty more if I would have had more time.

I took my girlfriend out on the weekend and we hammered about 250 of them with my .22 LR. We didn't even make a dent in the population and we were only on a quarter section. They haven't seen the end the massacre yet though.

No time, but they look hilarious and inviting, in the snow. Still trying for my first road kill.
