Default Returning a rescue dog

So you take in a dog from a shelter ( In England) and this stupid! person two days later wants to return it-- because!!

The line that gets me
" We told her to put him in another room"
"two days later, nope still does not work"

Sadly, this kind of stuff happens all over the world ... here in Canada, as well. Some people buy pets, like they buy toys or the latest fad.

I don't know how it works in England, but most Rescue Shelters here in Canada screen (interview/evaluate) their adoptors before they allow them to take an animal home ... especially those adoptors who will be first-time pet owners. It's not a perfect system, but it's very effective at keeping 'returns' to a minimum, as well as helping to ensure the animal is going to a good home.

I've often wondered how many people, who adopt kids, are tempted to do the same.

That is sickening.Shallow piece of ****e.
Both of our dogs are rescue pups, one was chained to a tree for 2 months and starving(sister in law cut him loose and brought him over)and the other was a teenager azzhole who used to get the pup drunk and put it in a garbage bag and blow pot smoke into it.The kids mother brought that one over.
Now they are the best, smartest and loveing critters you ever could hope to meet.My guy Wiley(the tree dog)follows me like a shadow, lies down when I sit, jumps right up when I get up,only barks when there is a good reason, loves truck rides.Big handsome Shepard/blue heeler and the best friend I have.Same as the other one,Buggy, loves my wife, she`s a Lab/Hound x.(the dog, that is)
