Mounting Transducer on Pontoon Boat
I have a fishcat IR-9 Pontoon boat and I have a Hummingbird 325 fish finder. and I want to mount it on to it. Im having issues finding a way to mount both the device, and transducer. If anybody has some insight on how I should do it let me know!
Thanks

In terms of mounting the head unit - you can look into a RAM mount to clamp to your frame rails ...... something like this for the unit;
http://www.rammount.com/CatalogResul...5/Default.aspx
and the piece for the rail mount (to replace the circular base);

GPS City in Calgary has everything you need and they deliver anywhere in the province within a few days .....
As far the transducer itself - you will need to set up a way of mounting a pole or rudder that you can attach the transducer to - that might take a little more research.....
Maybe something like this to clamp on the back ...

Might work ....

Your Links for mounting the device actually are genius thank you! But I am going to put a trolling motor on the back soon so I have to leave that area free. I was thinking of making a clamp for I can move the transducer down and up when transporting or going through weeds.

Easy solution then - mount your transducer to your electric trolling motor ...... there are mounting kits made specifically for this ......
http://ca.humminbird.com/products/271655/AD_STM_7
that's the ticket .......

Scotty makes a fishfinder and transducer holder in one. It straps on the pontoon. The fishfinder goes on top and transducer on bottom. Can get it at the fishin hole for $25.

I have an old Eagle portable. The transducer is round with a flat bottom. I found a piece of pvc the same diameter as the transducer, ran the cable up the inside of the pipe and attached the pipe to the inside of one of my pontoons. If I want to clear weeds or bottom when I am beaching the toon I just pull up on the tube then push it back down when I am in clear water. I have the unit itself sitting in the stripping basket.
I can get some pics if you think this may help.

I drilled 2 holes in a small L bracket, put a bolt with a wingnut on the upright arm of the L bracket and bolted it to the deck through the other hole. I have a small bar (about 10" long) with a hole in each end, one end goes on the bolt with the wingnut the other end you bolt the transducer to. Just loosen the wingnut and spin the arm up or down as you go into or out of the lake. I also used the Ram mounts for the head unit and bolted it to the side of the loop that your oar lock is on, with the battery in the storage bag.

Pics of sonar mounting
The pics show the tibe attached to the pontoon frame with velcro straps. When the tube is fully inflated the tube sits perfectly vertical.

I see now, I found an easy solution, just a strap for my hummingbird and transducer around the pontoon, its only 20$.
