Badger
well, the website is back up and running. that's some good news. no details posted on the 2012 derby yet though. a quick call to the lomond hotel should answer your question.

clink on the link i pasted gunner, it will give you a good idea of how things have ran in the past. i don't expect much change, with the exception of the absence of campers and trucks on the ice this year. unless we get a serious, good cold snap it's gonna be camping on shore this year.

now now. that's what makes a derby. watching the faces of all the locals as you walk up to collect your first prize.they have the advantage know there lake, winning on the road shows quality.

LOL not many local win the derby. Our group has won it twice in the many years weve been there. Every year they say the winner cheated even wen we did. Its mostly just luck.

I can agree with harey dude, the winning fish was caught within the rules. It was most likely the first winning fish that was caught with no bait, lol. I have heard that there have been cheaters, but that was just rumor. Everybody in our group has won something at one time or another except hairy dude and I. He has been only on the derby once, so that is understandable, but I have been going for 17 yrs! Not even a sniff of a prize.
