Predator calls?
I am just wondering what everyone recommends for predator calls. I am going get a new one, and with so many on the market I don't know where to start.
I have one PS OLT that would be ok for coyotes, but was kind of thinking about new one that would be good for wolves.
Thanks

coyote calls?
rocky, get ahold of redfrog. i just purchased a distress and a howler from him, best sound i have heard. i have most of the primos ones, hotdog, little dog. and the ones jim sells are way better sounding than those. take care, rob

I use a snoeshoe in distress, jack rabbit in distress and the rodent coaxer, all made by Sceery and I absolutely love them.... and so do the coyotes! Awesome sound.... very realistic.

Keeping it to 3 calls; a howler, a jackrabbit distres and a fawn distress.
I have some custom calls, but in reality the Primos are just as effective.

I've been using this "cub distress" call from a company in Arizona. Wasted 50 bucks getting it shipped here, only to have it sound like nothing even remotely close to a bear. It does make a god-awful sound though, and sounds quite a bit different than the usual distress calls. So far, the coyotes seem to like it, as I've called in 7 in about 5 setups. Today I also used a mouse squeaker once I had their attention, and that worked like a hot damn.

Just make sure you get an open reed call. Closed reed calls will freeze up in cold weather and are best left for fair-weather use.

open reed for sure
You will find that, with a little practice, you can make almost any sound with one. Fawn in distress, mouse squeaks, jackrabbit, higher-pitched barks and howls, cow elk...just to name a few off the top of my head.
