Have they since changed their ways?
Do they consider the Wildlife Act a PITA, or view it as the law of the land?
I think one has to take each situation as unique and deal with it as to it's own merits.

To me it is sort of a no-brainer.
So what exactly is your stance?

it would all depend on what the charge was. if it was something small like forgeting to carry their licence or tag then yes. but if they were caught hunting without a licence or a serious afence then no.

Let ye who is without sin cast the first stone...

Everyone makes mistakes if they have learned their lesson and changed their ways it wouldn't bother me one bit nor should it bother you... I think it would be more unethical for a person not to forgive and forget...

NO!!! I think drunk drivers should be locked up for life if convicted. To many lives have ended or been ruined by drunk drivers.

It depends.

If it was for something like night hunting, shooting game out of season or any other blatent example where the person obviously knew he was in the wrong, I would say no.

If it was an inadvertant breaking of the law (still no excuse for it) such as crossing a fence onto posted land without realizing it or counting up your geese at the end of the shoot and finding one extra one that you hadn't counted, I would give them another chance.

Yes.

Some of the laws are beyond stupid......a few years ago I was ticketed for no name tags on my snares. I had complied with the law but everytime I caught a coyote the tag was destroyed, so I finally gave up...

After a 3 hour discussion with the local officer, he ticketed me for $115...no problem, cause I knew I had broken the law. But he learned quite a bit about trapping/snaring in that discussion and the following year the name tag requirement was dropped.

I agree I think they wreck lives and jail is the place for them ! But I know as a person that makes a living in the patch I would be hard pressed to find a ride sometimes and whats past is past. I have done jobs where I have literaly been the only guy that had never lost his licence.

Would you ride with a person that had gotten a speeding ticket before ?

I mean out right on purpose drove in excess of the posted limit! where do we draw the line?

If the law breaking was innocent mistake, and notified the wildlife officer himself, and took the ONE ticket issued, then I believe that person is honorable, and will learn from his mistakes, and someone I would hunt with, as long as he is safe in the woods. I guess I don't have a choice. ....Its me.

To answer Lurch's original question i would have to say it would depend on the charge.

I agree with you Donny it is hard to draw a line.I hate drunk drivers but have 2 speeding tickets tucked in my glovebox as i type so how hypocritical is that.
