Default Walleye Rod/Reel recomendations

I want to buy a new rod and reel set up for both walleye and pike. We only fish from the boat. I am willing to spend around $250 for the set up and don't mind ordering online. What do you guys suggest is the best average set up for both walleye and pike?? This will be a casting rod and not used for trolling if that makes a difference.

Have a look at Hagens Rods out of Mitchell SD, been fishing these for 20+ years, compares with the best, great warranty (only one in 20 yrs) cost about half of the rest.
Reels, I fish Shimano from top to bottom end models, stick with any of the mid priced models and start catching fish!

With your budget I would reccomend the bass pro walley rod for around 125 and a phulger 1000 or 2500 reel. for around 100. St Croix also makes a rod for just over 100 as well.
