Default Truck camper rental

We want to visit grandsons in Victoria. Taking our 5th wheel trailer on the ferry there and back is $800. Thinking of renting a truck box camper to put in our long box F250. Any suggestions

You might be better off buying one and selling it when you’re done. You’d come out about even, give or take-depending on your negotiating skills 😎

Rent for a week will cost you about what the Ferry would, and I don't ever remember seeing campers for rent. Cheapest option would be to park the trailer on the mainland and hotel it while on the island. Depending on what the truck costs for crossing, might be just as cheap to leave it on the mainland too and rent a car. They run about $30 a day on the Island these days.

So out of curiosity thought I would check for rental campers. Got to love Google. - Found Campers, but they all come with the truck. About $140 a night.

Most places that I've seen rent truck campers out usually only rent a truck and camper package. I assume as a possible way of avoiding liability issues as most people who don't have a truck camper wouldn't likely have appropriate tie towns.

We're doing a trip in June similar to yours. With the cost of fuel and other headaches finding campsites etc. we're just tenting it. Too much hassle taking the trailer that far west.

Cana dream rents out truck/camper setups I have seen them on my travels. Unless you already have truck camper tie downs I highly doubt anyone would rent you their camper. Ratchet straps ain’t gonna cut it

2x my vote in buying a used one, then selling it .
With the price increasing on campgrounds and fuel , you would be much better off getting a motel room. I am sure your truck will cost $350 to fill every 4 hrs in BC .

Check out RVezy , there might be a truck camper there or a small class C motor home or camper van.
