A couple Excalibur models for example:

Excalibur Matrix 330
Excalibur Micro 335

"Excalibur 338" seems to be missing a model name and an incorrect fps designation. The numbers refer to speed in fps There is/was no 338 fps Excalibur crossbow to my knowledge.

You are not providing the information necessary for us to give you an opinion. Get the Model name from him and then ask again.

You can’t go wrong with Excalibur.
I’m hunting with the 350 Matrix LE with Nikon Xbolt scope.
Nice compact. Much nicer to carry than my older Equinox, it was a tank.
There were some models that had limb issues but I believe that’s been rectified.

I have the same bow in gen 1. The current version is a gen 2 that has modified riser geometry. Paid $1000 for it in 2011. It's a great bow, small in size for a recurve and deadly accurate

It's worth what you'll pay for it . Crossbows retain their value much longer than vertical bows do.

$700 would be a great price. PM me for any advice

This one is sporting some upgrades: Trigger Tech trigger and an EOTech 512 Holographic sight with an XBOW reticle.

Cabelas has them on for $ 899.99 before taxes.

They are a fine crossbow. I know a couple Gents who own them, and they have been well served and well pleased. Accurate, small footprint, best warranty bar none, easy to work on.

I run with a Matrix 380, and have owned many models of Excalibur bows. Nothing but good to say about their product quality and how well they stand behind that.

ENJOY!

Call Excalibur, tell them what the defect is, they will give you an RMA nbr with instructions to mail it to them (Ontario address). Have done it. Awesome service.

Not personally, but I know several who have. Like CNP posted above, in every single case those that used their services were very happy.

They also have their own Forum. In it you can often find references to the detail they go to in order to keep their clients happy:

I recently bought a crossbow. I got an offer for Excalibur Micro 335 for $770 but didn't buy that.

Yep....spot on! Limb issues with my Bulldog 440 and they had me fixed up(twice) within a few days both times during hunting season.
