Default Walleye Eating .... Closest to Edmonton

Just a general comment ... I thought I was the only guy who got
to go fishing on his honeymoon ... Way to go Bear ....

A question for our northern brothers ... was going to go down to Chin

for a feed and a few days of angling but understand water is so low boat launching is iffy .. I have never fished north of Calgary , so am wondering
what or where might be the closest spot for a few eater Walleyes, and some genera
lly good fishing . Thanks ahead of time W101

That could be a bit of a drive for you for sure. Lesser Slave, Baptiste and Calling are all good bets but a long ways from Calgary. Pigeon is a great fishery but you can't keep any there without the special draw tags!

You also have the Battle river and south Buck Lake, but all of these still a healthy drive. Fishing on the honeymoon... makes me feel like I'm the boss

You can keep one walleye out of Buck Lake (west of Pigeon) over 43 cm. Pretty easy to get one that size. Pretty productive lake if you know what to use.
