Default Best Day Packs

Looking for ideas for a good all around day pack. I had a Eberlestock X1 and liked it. Suggestions?

In my opinion, much like optics, there are the big 3 when it comes to packs (Exo, stone glacier, and kifaru). Personally out of the 3, I prefer the Exo K3 for a few reasons. I run a 3200 bag for a day pack and the 6400 bag for extended trips. May be a little more than you want to spend though if just using periodically.
Kuiu is a lower cost option with the ability to switch out bags for different applications. They do come on sale quite often and are a decent pack.

Look at both alpz and horn hunter as budget options. Both are heavier than the top tier bags but both have all the same features as the MR SG, Exo ect. As a backcountry ( not mountain) hunter both have served me very well and are bomb proof.

I agree with MountainTi but for a daypack I would add mystery ranch back in there. The old dragon slayer and bighorn are still my favourite daypacks. I’ve had both and been using the dragon slayer for the past 6 years. I went through multiple low end packs like eberlestock and badlands back in the day, transitioned to multiple Kifaru packs and then settled on the mystery ranch.

I prefer the tri zip design of the mystery ranch, the pockets and the spotting scope/tripod storage down the sides.

It’s not the best for hauling big weight with no functional load lifters but it’s hauled many a bear skin or boned out deer in one load. If I’m packing heavy I take my Kifaru but for a daypack it’s my pick of the litter.

IMO between the alpha packs they’re all great, bombproof, lifetime warranty, yada, yada but they have different features and only you can figure out what’s important to you. If money is a consideration find a used one. I bought that pack above for less then $200
