What is this? A cougar?
I have been trying to enhance this photo. I cannot tell for sure, but it looks like a cougar. Anyone want to take a stab at cleaning up this photo to identify this animal?
I put up the original photo which is very bright. Not sure why this camera takes such crappy photos.
What do you think it is?
Thanks

I found that if I have my camera pointing any direction other than North, I get the occasional picture that is overexposed. I'd suggest you check the time of day the picture was taken and direction it is pointed,,, and you will have your answer as to why. Just a possibility.

Does anybody see the second coyote? jk...
If someone told me that it was a first year calf elk or bovine, I'd believe it.
What brand camera is it?

its back is sure straight/flat.
wouldnt a cougars be you know less straight. older moo cows get a droop to their backs ,but im still saying moo cow, younger one with a firm back.
just llloked at some cougar pics and their back is definatley sloped upwards to their rear legs, they have more curvature to their graceful forms.
plus its neck and head(what little you can see) sure look big for a deer.
moo-cow

A hippo ? HAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!! I needed that. Cracked me up good this morning. I have a few pics of deer, moose, elk and cow from this camera in this location. I will dig through them and see if I have anything that would have been close to this "creature's" location for a scale.
I do see how some mention a cougar's back would not be so straight. Here is a shot I got of a cougar in another area a few years back.
Keep the guesses coming. Some are pretty entertaining. :-)

Looks like an elk to me. But who the heck knows. Did you go over and look for tracks?
