Default Tobin Lake update

Walleye hitting steady along river channel down to Eagles' Nest. 2 lbers with a couple 7-10. Fished off of Prudence and picked up a 32", and a couple probably short of 10lbs.

Today up at Pelican Narrows catching smallish Jacks on every second catch.

Couple of days at Pelican. Bit different hanging out in the middle of the reserve. Plenty of 4lb'ers slimmers with a couple 6-8. Gearing up to head back out to Tobin to spen the aft dragging for slimmers.

We were there this past week too. Maybe we ran into you guys in the filletion station there. Were you in cabin 9? Anyway we caught lots of fish in the 1-2 pound range just south of the resort and 6 and 8 off of pemican. We made to the big lake just the one day(because of the bugs.... holy crap) but the pike are big and aggressive withe biggest being around 20#'s

few smaller pickeral in the river. Did pull an 8lb out but generally quiet. Heard a few times that bigger jacks aer biting across on the flats but weather a bit rough.

Heading back to Calgary in the morn, maybe stop along the way. Good time, but next spring will be two weeks earlier.

Default June 15 - 17

We fished Tobin June 15 - 17 as well. It was our first time there and had a great time. Monday was great, Wednesday was great; but, Tuesday was absolutely CRAZY!!! My partner and I had 11 double headers and between the two of us boated (and released) at least 70 fish.

8 & 9 lbs 'Eyes were nice to see.
Pike were picky and not hitting very well for anyone talkin' at the fillet station (gut shack). But we did manage our share up to 12 lbs.

Can't wait to go back next spring.

Thanks to CHRIS K and GRIZZLED for the tips and advised given!

anyone have any tips for the big pike in the fall?(mid oct) if the hog walleye are not biting in the middle of the day i would like to chase some big snakes. will be fishing in the river but if anyone has any lake hot spots i would make the run down there if its not to choppy. i have the lake map from the internet but have never been there so any info would be helpful. i also have the canadian chip for my lowrance fish finder but if its is bad as the slave lake map it will not be a lot of help unless anyone has any gps cordinates they would want to give out.
