Default 7th Generation Mustang Unveil

Ford is debuting the 7th generation of it's pony car, codename S650, which will launch as a 2024 model, tonight for those that are interested:

From what I've read, I'm not expecting anything to wild, likely a mild exterior refresh, massive upgrade for the interior, and the same powertrain options. No wild new styling, AWD, or electric powertrain. I am hoping Ford surprises me with 100 hp/L for the 5.0 L Coyote on the base GT though, that would be sweet.

Agree. In June I was coming back from a family get together in Burns Lake BC and when going through PG, I looked at the car beside me at the lights and seen the Mustang horse emblem, but it wasn't lol. Damn Ford and their electric car. I'm a Ford guy but not a fan. Glad to see they are still producing a gas guzzler Stang for the time being. Seems the others have said farewell to the gas powered muscle division.

I don't know, for an SUV I don't think it's too bad.

Not as pretty as some, but alot better than most.

It’s a Mustang cleverly disguised as a Mazda so you can get better insurance rates.

I have no issue with the vehicle, my issue is that they gave it the Mustang name. It has virtually nothing in common with the original Mustang, so give it a different name.

Hahahahah! Awesome.

Whenever I see one of these, I point at it and declare loudly, "Oh look! It's the new Hyundai Pony SUV!"

Not getting any laughs... Must be my delivery...

Agreed, Call it something else! Car looks fine compared to some out there these days. I actually got to see one in person at the minnesota state fair. Interesting car but definitely not a mustang!

Ford needs to focus on getting current production up and running (just plain catching up with demand actually) instead of making promises that it may not be able to deliver on.

We have vehicles down because simple parts are backordered for months, thousands of units. No new vehicles to buy because production is so far behind. If they don't focus on parts, they're only going to make a few of these new cars and they'll be pre-sold before they make it to the showroom.

Somewhat agreed, need to keep planning for the future though.

Big fan of the new Bronco, well, the old one too....., but if 100K of them magically appeared in their inventory today, they'd still be behind in orders.

The car companies have discovered the secret to maximize profits .

Find a product that 100,000 customers want and then slowwwwly make 90,000 of those products . And make sure there is never a vehicle to test drive , car dealers love a desperate customer. Gets rid of all that messy negotiating.

Yes, future is important but right now it seems like they may only be able to render it with software. If they don't focus on production we may get the 2024 model for Christmas in 2027.

Between my initial post an hour ago and this one I had another conversation with a parts guy, two week delivery went to three months. lol. 1054 units on backorder in Canada, no stock in North America and Ford doesn't seem to care all that much, or so the guys at Ford Canada are starting to feel like.

Default Mustang?

Maybe they should have called THAT one the Maverick. They’re just a bit confused….

Exactly, but ugly too!

Too many vehicles with all the same type of body looks, gets boring real quick.

The "new" Mustang appears to be just what's called a "face-lift"... New body panels front & rear, and new interior, but built on the same S550 chassis.

I like the look of it. I'm not fond of the Mercedes-esqè 10-inch gauge-cluster / drivers screen across most of the dashboard though...

The Dark Horse mustang is the performance beast that will be available. You can order it from the factory and depending on the options it is ready to race on a track if the owner so desires.

It's also supposed to put out around 530 hp, "Ford says the Dark Horse engine is the most powerful naturally aspirated V-8 it has ever built.", but I wonder if Ford has "forgotten" about some of the engines they've built. Either was, it's going to be crazy expensive.

Driving the F150 lightning the other day. The young fellow with his Suped up BMW couldn’t come close. The science behind accelerating a vehicle is dominated by electric control. Move over gas guzzlers, the future is about to pass you.
