Default scope mount for Cooey Mod.600 rifle?

I've a Winchester Cooey Model 600 (22LR), the tubular magazine 1970s era plinker, and am considering mounting a scope onto it. There are 4 drilled/tapped holes on the left side of the receiver.

Do you guys know if a side-mount bracket is still available for this rifle? Would the scope sit on top, or to the side? There is nothing in the current Russels catalogue.

If you own(ed) this particular model and had it scoped, I am interested in knowing how it groups(ed) for you and at what range. I know that most boxes of .22 ammo - the plinking stuff - has its share of 'flyers', but approximate group size would be fun to know.

Right now, my eyes through iron sights make it more of a shotgun than a rifle. It used to be a deadly groundhog rifle, then was put to sleep for 20 years... I figure the barrel and action are half decent, so a cheap scope might be enough to revive it. As you know, Dick284 has a postal match coming up and I want to be competitive. Kidding.
