Trout fishing after dark?

Any one have luck through the ice for stocked lake rainbows and brookies after dark.
If you have, would you be kind enough to share some lures and techniques.
My first year ice fishing trout, I love it,and would like to lengthen my time out on the ice. Is trout after dark productive??

im not to sure about dark but i know everytime i go out the hot time seems to be right around 930 am to 11 or so and than steadys out until 2 and than dies right off..but never been on the lake for trout past 4 when the sun starts going down so im not to sure if they perk up and come out feeding again

Get yourself some glow jigs and spoons, the Berkley trout scent works well after dark as well. I have the best luck by always recharging the glow jigs with a mini mag light.

I also switch to a glow spoon rather then a jig after dark for more vibration.

With this technique you increase visibility, movement, and scent. Those are the three keys the fishing anytime, especially in low light confitions

I personally have never noticed a difference fishing for Rainbows after dark, never had much luck doing it. Brookies I haven't tried although Browns after dark are money!

I do well at night for trout and walleye. The key is to jig every two seconds. The lure I use is my own ultra lite tackle. The color does NOT matter. I use black lure as well and does work well. The trout can sense movement in the water. I night fishing usally starts up an hour to two hours after the sun is down. The only light I use is bright enough just to see the line water.

I have the most action for brookies in the morning before the sun comes up. Usually setup an hour before light and doesn't matter jigging or still fishing. Mostly use worms but have had luck on power baits and maggots aswell.

I work shift work so I end up with nights with I need to stay up to switch over,
hoping to do some night fishing for trout and these big burbot I hear about.

I have night fished Rainbows in the spring through fall but never tried under the ice. Anything glow works amazing... my fly then was a black leech with a glow bead and charge it up every 5 minutes or so.
Color, I agree, doesnt matter much.... but i can guarantee that the fish dont not feed cause its dark.... Fiskas are a nice small, heavy jig... the fishin hole sells those! good luck bud.

Someone out at Chickakoo told me Star had been closed. Anyone know if this is true?
