Default Crawling Valley Derby

Hopefully the bite picks up by next weekend, if not, I picked up a few new tricks this week, hope to see a bunch of forum members out there.

Lots of wind drift , rough as hall , ruts , but launch access was ok .
Was there sat in a hurricane again , just left one at chain , fished all day not even a nibble , smelts , sardines , mackeral , the works , on the way home to calgary windblown snow and iced up hiway , 8 rollovers 10 spin outs in the ditch , people just wont slow down .
We plan on heading out next weekend , but the weather and road conditions will decide , l,m not going if its windy and minis 16 and l,m not driving on that bludy stretch of death road between strathmore and Bassano again in black ice or white ice again.

My plan was to head out there for Saturday morning. But after reading Jimboy's post about the highway conditions I'm now wondering if it is worth it. 4 of us fished it 3 weeks ago and didn't get so much as a bite.

We hit at least 5 locations. I shouldn't say none of us got a bite. Will's wife got a burb. But that was about 10 hours from the time we got there and about 2 miles from the derby boundry.

Yes only 1 weigh station tight in the middle of the 1 mile x 1 mile (roughly) boundaries so you won't be more than 1/2 mile away. I think this meets the standards of not having a weigh station more than 800 metres from any spot.
