Default Shed chandelier makers?

Hey all

Going through some life changes and long story short, I’m moving into a smaller home by myself. (Still in snake country, of course!)

The bad news is I don’t have as much room for my cool things like taxidermy and sheds and skulls. The good thing is I bought a character home and now I can decorate however I like!

I have a lot of sheds and I’d like to make two chandeliers with them. I also want them to be LED and fairly bright.

Does anyone know anyone who does this? I can picture it in my head but I know what I’m capable of and what’s out of my lane.

I have not had one made, but love shed hunting and have a mountain of them. I like viewing antler art and on instagram regularly view beautiful pieces by Custom Antler Designs. He is based out of Spokane Washington unfortunately. But by the subs of your situation a drive may be a therapeutic adventure. I don’t really do the Facebook thing but I’ll guess he’s on there too.

Thanks!

Onwards and upwards. Hoping to be able to do more camping and maybe some hunting too.

Is it controversial to alter your sheds to make art?

I did like leaving them as-is. I had a huge space with a platform and they all went there, but I just don't have that same space now.

No I wouldn't think so. They are cut for knife handles, dog chews and such all the time.

I think making your chandeliers is a great idea. I'd like to see how they turn out. So make sure you keep us updated on your progress.

I think this year I'll put some effort into going to find some myself. They are always a neat find. It's nice to see someone doing something with them.

I have made several. If you just buy components and create it yourself, it will need to be inspected to meet the home insurance requirements. Much easier to buy a suitable commercial made light and add your antlers to it. Go to Lowes or similar store and look at what you may think is easy to work with. Often find one at a garage sale for $10, if it dont turn out- no big loss just more is learned

There lots of chandeliers on Facebook market place and a popular garage sale item add LED bulbs, might need to beef up the hanging support for the extra weight would be great winter project

What's not to like about a massive weight of pointy antlers dangling on a string above your head?

Hang with chains, made some double level ones with 16 or more 6 point elk antlers.
