Default Barrel twist question

I have been looking into reloading ammo, and found out that my gun barrel has 1 twist in 14".

So I was wondering what effect there would be using a 1 twist in 15" bullet?

I noticed that some other brands don't have a recommended barrel twist on the pack.

Over stabiliztion is prefered over under stabilization.

Sounds like 50's or 52's in a 22-250?

The only way to know for sure is shoot and see.

Sorry, ya the calibre is .22-250. I have a box of 55 grain nosler ballistic tips, and a box of 40 grain Berger hollow points. The berger box has the 1 in 15" detail on the box

The 1 in 15" twist is the minimum that is recommended for that bullet. It should be fine in your gun.

You should have not trouble shooting those 40 gr with 1-14 I have shot them in mt 22-250 and it has a 1-8 . Not much trouble going faster twist , it is going to a slower twist that normally causes trouble. I run some 36gr VG in my 1-8 twist and if I push them much past 4000fps they can blow up before they get to the target, but that is an extreme over spin.
