Default Injured finger???

So I dunno how it happened, but I was getting into a backhoe, and as I opened the door I was getting up on the steps, I ended up getting my third finger somehow caught and twisted in the handle (dont ask me how I really really dont know how) And its been three weeks and I still have a pain going from just above the middle knucle and going to about half way down my hand. Minimal swelling when it first happend (hurt like a b!tch though) but now I am getting concerned due to the length of time and the pain. God forbid I have a mangled hand while trying to pack out my first bull out out of the 400's by hand....... alone. Now the pain whether its flexing or straight it hurts the same. Other then go see the doctor lol, im wondering if anyone had the same kind of twisting pulling injury, and what they did and what the outcome was??????

Have you tried to immobilize the finger with a splint as to help the healing properly if by chance it is broken. But still your best bet would go get X-rays done so that it won't cause more grief later down the line. Years ago I broke my foot and refused to get a cast on it cause I wouldn't be able to climb into my treestands. I now regret not casting it cause when it gets cold it starts to hurt like hell

Yes.

It took about 6 months to heal and it still gives me grief in cold weather.
Go see your sawbones... he might be able to help reduce the recovery time.

hmm darnit, well ill phone the doctors office tomorrow, and see what I can do. I dunno that would suck if its broken. I have bad knees (only almost 25) and really dont want any more strikes against me that will get in the way of my hunting.

What you don't take care of at 25...you'll find out you never really got away with when you're about 45.

I've had similar injuries to my fingers, and they take forever to heal. I think its cause we are always using our hands, and it doesn't give them a good opportunity to heal properly. Go see the doc to make sure it isn't broken, after that, Ibuprofen or Tylenol for the pain if you can't take it...

A couple options here.

Soak it.
Cut it off
Cowboy up
Quit whining.
See Doctor
That finger doesn't get used much i'd just get it cut off.

Default Don't waste anymore time or you may regret it

I had something similar. Went to the medicentre where they took an x-ray and said it was sprained. Waited a week and went back to see another quack who said the same thing. Waited a couple weeks and found I was having trouble straightening the finger. Go to see family doctor and he says must be a bad sprain. Give it a few more weeks. At that point I couldn't straighten it out at all. Ended up getting a referral and waiting a couple months to go to the hand clinic at the U of A. Turns out an MRI showed I tore the ligament off the bone and it had healed in the wrong spot. Months of physio and ultimately surgery partially corrected the problem.
The kicker was hearing it would have been easy to correct if I had gone to them as soon as it occurred. Listen to your body and if it don't feel right it probably isn't.

Default hand injuries

I dislocated the thumb on my left hand about 10 years ago. It took a real long time to heal and still bothers me to this day. Physio definatly helped in restoring the strength in it. Go to the doctor.
