I just ignore them, I have better things to worry about than some people who feel the need to suck up to the boss.

The thing that always amazed me was that anybody would WANT a brown noser working for them!!??

If I was a boss I would fire them quicker than a dog licks up vomit!

I want somebody who has a brain in their head and is not afraid to tell me when I make a mistake working for me. This makes for better business, smarter bosses and much more satisfied employees.
Regards,
Dave.

Most of them are pretty good manipulaters and some are really good at it which makes them full blown psychopaths.

Those ones put as much effort into impressing the boss as they do trying to make everyone else look bad to the boss.

If the job is worth it ya got to find a solution, but quite often incompetince catches up with them.

On a positive note if the boss has it figured out and is decent it can be quite entertaining to watch some of those losers degrade themselves.

Its even more fun to let them run to the boss with a really really bad idea they stole from you.

touche.....

Way long time ago I had a toolpush who had a rep for being hard to work for but I thought was unwarranted as you did your job and didnt kiss up no problem.

The one guy who was always striveing to shine would always get called by old phil for his negative criticism of everyone else when they were not present...........always in the doghouse at a meal time with everyone includeing the person being criticised present.

Always along the lines of "well seeings how you told me earlier mike took to long or completed the task incorrectly, how would you have done it better?"

The long akward silences were always gold.

Yup.
Worked with a thunder thief and it finally got to the point where guys would screw a job up knowing that he would try to take credit for it.

Finally got himself fired that way.

Not for screwing up....
For trying to blame it on everyone else whenever he did....lol

I kiss my bosses arse daily. Hes good to me and Im good to him. I work my arse off for him, compliment him on good ideas and often tell him hes a helluva guy to work for. Taking off several extra weeks during hunting season is never a problem.

Does this make me a brown noser? Sure it does. A brown noser in a treestand at 730 on a Wednsday morning while the rest of you sit at work on here complaining about brown nosers! Lmao

Gentlemen:

If you want to survive in any form of business or high level government environment and make some loot, I would suggest that you study:

How to play the game.

Brown nosing and fart catching.

How to cover your axx.

Glad Handing

Back Stabbing...in the figurative sense

How to pull a fast one....some people call it conning.

B.S ing and Cheating....... after you have mastered the above

Womanizing......Very important...you want class... not a POA.

Tricks and Shortcuts.....get the honest guy to do your work.

Laugh all you want at me, but these are key issues you have to learn in our current world of being successful.

Cheers.

Yup...up there enjoying the great outdoors accompanied by all the men that respect you. Fill you boots... my dignity and pride is worth too much to toady to the boss.
Don't get me wrong...I like my boss and we get on fine but he earns that respect and and he returns it those that earn it through honest work and by displaying character and integrity.

It makes for a happier work place.

BN's come in all ages and ranks.

It's sad.

I had a "go around" with a deputy one day about respect and rank. I told him to drive to Leduc and ask ANYONE on the street to name one EPS Deputy Chief, or even name the Chief. My bet was no one knows or cares.

Funny how some people's world gets so small.

Kinda pathetic.

But to be an a-kiss on top of that? That's low.

X2, it is has been my observation that brown nosers are usually only tolerated by a boss, if he got his job doing the same thing. A boss like that normally has a hard time getting much cooperation or respect from the rest of the crew though. Ultimately any boss only succeeds, if he has a good crew that respect him......eventually brown nosers and brown noser bosses fail.

You can be a brown noser and think you are in the best seat you can ever sit in, it may bring you extra goodies from the big guy and you will think your the boss. If you ask anyone else in the company, they will tell you if you are a brown noser or not .
I am a company man, work hard for my pay but would never suck anyone's bum to get any higher, even if it meant hunting earlier. No time off but weekends this year, sucks but I still have my pride.

In the same boat and state of mind moosemad

People who think they are a bird on someones shoulder in reality are a rat at someones feet.

Hey IR Mike and Moosemad:

Good to see young fellows like you can pick out weasels and lowlife so early in life.

Some guys get stung a couple of times before they learn..... like me.

Cheers.

How do I deal with Brown Noser's I step on or step over them. Kissing the boss's butt may get you in the good books for a day but its results that get you ahead.

or join the union.\\

The Union Dog
Four workers were discussing how smart their dogs were.

The first was an engineer and said his dog was named T-square and he could do math calculations. He told his dog to get some paper and draw a square, a circle, and a triangle, which the dog did easily.

The accountant said that his dog was better. He told his dog, Slide Rule, to fetch a dozen cookies and divide them into piles of three which he did with no problem.

The chemist said that was good but he felt his dog could do better. His dog, Measure, was told to get a quart of milk and pour seven ounces into a ten ounce glass. The dog did this with no problem.

All three men agreed this was very good and their dogs were equally smart. They turned to the last man, a union worker, and asked what his dog could do.

The union worker called his dog, Coffee Break, and said " Show the fellas what you can do." Coffee Break went over and ate the cookies, drank the milk, **** on the paper, screwed the other dogs and claimed he injured his back while doing so, filed a grievance for unsafe working conditions, applied for Workman's Compensation and went home on sick leave.

Default Work ethic

I let my work ethic speak for itself at work, I have my pride and integrity and that's all that matters to me but this guys head is shoved so far up that if the foreman made a sudden turn he would break the guys neck. Well it will catch up someday I just hope it's soon that later

just keep on working.... when your immediate bosses boss shows up and he sees one guy licking bag and the other guy working that all he sees. Your boss may be friends with the guy but the big honcho sees a waste of wages.

It sucks but licking bag pays off, I've seen it numerous times.. I know some one who is really good at it and it gets him places. My self I could care less, I provide a product or do my job and that's that, in the long term reliability is key... You can be hated or despised but if you're always given\er and you're there when needed you will be king

In the end friendship and brown nosing doesn't get work done... like that dash sticker about a a few items and cash no one rides for free
